NUR1002 Introduction to Nursing Care
The lecture component will cover basic concepts related to basic nursing care. Content includes: 1) an overview of the role of the nurse and nurse assistant, 2) communication and interpersonal skills, 3) infection control, 4) safety and emergency procedures, 5) promotion of residents' independence, 6) protection of and respect for resident's rights, 7) psychosocial needs and interactions, and 8) basic nursing, personal care, and restorative care skills.
