ENG1600 Introduction to Literature

Course Description:

This course offers an engaging exploration of literature across diverse genres, including poetry, fiction, drama, and non-fiction. Students will read a selection of classic and contemporary works, examining the cultural, historical, and social contexts that shape literary expression. Through close reading and analysis, students will develop critical thinking skills and learn to interpret themes, styles, and narrative techniques.

Discussions will focus on the elements of storytelling, character development, and the use of language, encouraging students to articulate their interpretations and engage in thoughtful dialogue.

Students will gain a greater appreciation for literature as a reflection of the human experience and will be equipped with the tools to analyze and discuss texts critically.
