CIT1610 Networking Fundamentals Cisco I

This course introduces the architecture, structure, functions, components, and models of the Internet and other computer networks. The principles and structure of IP addressing and the fundamentals of Ethernet concepts, media, and operations are introduced to provide a foundation for the curriculum. Students will build simple LANS, perform basic configuration of both switches and routers and implement IP addressing schemes using both IPv4 and IPv6. CIT1610 is the first of two courses that will prepare students for the Cisco® Certified Entry-level Network [CCENT] exam. 3 Cr Hrs. Course Requirement(s): Placement or OIS1200.
