HST1500 Early American History
This course is an introduction to the political, social, and cultural development of the American nation.
HST1500 studies American civilization from the Age of Exploration through the Civil War. In addition, this course will focus on central themes and issues noted in the growth of the U.S. with the enduring theme being Life in Early America. The student will be asked to read supplementary analyses and critiques, and apply historical issues to modern topics.
HST1500 will investigate the various dreams held by early Americans for the new nation and how these notions are interpreted by contemporary historians. 3 Cr Hrs. Course Requirement(s): None.
