CHM1260 General Chemistry II
This course is the second semester of a two-semester course in general chemistry appropriate for students interested in pursuing careers in science, medicine and engineering. The course is a continuation of General Chemistry I. Topics include solution properties, types of intermolecular forces and the properties of the liquid and solid phases including mixtures, acids and bases, chemical equilibrium, thermodynamics, free energy, entropy, reaction kinetics, aqueous equilibria involving buffers, and electrochemistry. Laboratory exercises reinforce basic principles and emphasize analytical techniques. 5 Cr Hrs. Prerequisite(s): General Chemistry I.
